The Evaluation

It is particularly valuable for beginners as it provides a learning experience in discipline and risk management. Only traders who can master these trading rules will successfully pass the evaluation.

Proppers Evaluation Process

Signal Provider

As a Signal Provider, you will earn a 75% profit share. Trading on a demo account, Proppers replicates your trades to a live account, ensuring transparency and allowing the firm to pay out your profit share accordingly. The trading rules are clear and straightforward, with no hidden clauses. For detailed guidelines, refer to the trading rules on Proppers’ website. Note: Proppers reserves the right to copy all or some of the trades to its own accounts.

Hired Trader

Upon reaching an account size of $500,000, you advance to the status of a Hired Trader under local legal conditions, earning a 90% profit share. This position not only offers a higher profit share percentage but also elevates your professional status. With a proven track record and your “hired” status, you’ll have opportunities to pursue additional employment or manage trades for your clients. Note: Proppers reserves the right to copy all or some of the trades to its own accounts.

Why Choose Proppers?

High Profit Split

Proppers offers an exceptional profit split, allowing traders to keep up to 90% of their profits. This high-profit split is calculated based on your balance and equity at the end of the New York stock market trading session on the day you request a payout, ensuring that you maximize your earnings.

Fast Scaling Plan

Proppers provides a Fast Scaling Plan designed to accelerate your growth towards managing up to $2,000,000 in trading capital. By reaching the Profit Target and adhering to the minimum trading days, your account will be automatically upgraded to a higher starting amount, enabling rapid capital expansion.

Weekly Payouts

With Proppers’ weekly payouts on demand, your profits are always accessible. The profit share is calculated based on your balance and equity at the close of the New York stock market trading session on the day you request a payout. This streamlined process ensures that you can enjoy your success with ease.

Low Commissions

Proppers’ low commission structure is designed to enhance your trading potential while keeping costs low:

  • Forex: $2 per lot RT
  • Energy and Metals: $2 per lot RT
  • Crypto: 0.05% of contract value
  • Indices: 0.01% of contract value

Simple Rules

Proppers is committed to providing a straightforward and transparent rule set, making your trading experience smooth and stress-free. With clear and simple guidelines, you can focus on trading without the burden of complex terms.

Combined Drawdown

Proppers offers a fixed drawdown system once you reach break even, providing more available risk, more profit potential, and less chance of account depletion due to late-stage mishaps. This approach contrasts with the trailing drawdown systems commonly used by other firms, which often increase risk as profits grow.

Proppers Assessment Rules

Proppers has established a set of rules for the assessment phase that every trader must adhere to in order to progress to the next stage. Below are the key rules and guidelines that traders need to follow:

Proppers Assessment Rules

No Time Limit

There is no maximum time limit to achieve the required profit target. Traders may take as long as needed to reach the goal. However, breaking any disqualifying conditions will result in immediate termination of the assessment. For more details, refer to the sections on Drawdown, General Rules – Stop Loss, General Rules – Resets, and General Rules – Disqualification.

Minimum Active Trading Days

To pass the assessment, traders must complete a minimum of 25 active trading days. An active trading day is defined as any weekday on which at least one trade is opened. This counts as one active trading day, regardless of the trade’s duration. Swing traders can alternatively meet this requirement by opening at least 20 trades on different days, with a minimum trade duration of 3 days each.

Maximum Trailing Drawdown

Proppers implements a Maximum Trailing Drawdown of 5% from the All-Time High (ATH) of the trader’s current account balance. This rule governs both the maximum allowable risk and the maximum loss before open positions are closed and the account is disabled. Only the balance is considered when calculating the ATH, not the equity. If a trader breaches the maximum drawdown limit, either in balance or equity, the assessment will be failed.

Drawdown Example:

  • Starting with a $50,000 account (Silver package): Your initial drawdown will be 5% of $50,000, equating to $2,500. Thus, your maximum drawdown limit will be $47,500. If your balance or equity drops below this level, you will fail the assessment.
  • If your balance reaches $52,000: Your drawdown is now 5% of $52,000, equating to $2,600. The new drawdown limit will be $49,600. Falling below this balance will result in failing the assessment.
  • If your balance decreases to $51,500: Your drawdown remains at $2,600, but since your balance is $51,500, the maximum loss allowable is now $1,900 ($51,500 – $49,600).

Profit Target

To pass the assessment, traders must achieve a profit target of at least 10% net profit. For example, on a $50,000 account, a trader must make a minimum net profit of $5,000. No open positions or orders are allowed when this target is reached and success is claimed.

Final Review

After claiming success, Proppers will manually review the trades to ensure no infractions occurred. This review typically takes no more than 48 hours. If the review is passed, the trader will be promoted to Signal Provider and start earning a 75% profit share.

Rules for Promoted Accounts at Proppers

Once you have been promoted, the rules for managing your account at Proppers are crucial to follow in order to continue progressing and scaling your trading capital.

No Time Limit

Similar to the assessment phase, there is no maximum time limit to achieve the required profit target in a promoted account. Traders can take as long as needed to reach their goals. However, breaking any disqualifying conditions will result in the immediate closure of all positions and the disabling of the account. For more details, please refer to the sections on Drawdown, General Rules – Stop Loss, General Rules – Disqualification, and General Rules – Resets.

Extended Breaks

If you plan to take an extended break of one month or more, you are required to notify Proppers in advance. This allows the firm to use the funds during your absence. Upon your return, all funds will be reinstated to your account.

Minimum Active Trading Days

To advance to the next live stage, traders must complete a minimum of 30 active trading days. An active trading day is defined as any weekday on which at least one trade is opened. This counts as one active trading day, regardless of the trade’s duration. Swing traders have the option to open at least 20 trades on different days, with each trade having a minimum open duration of 3 days to meet this requirement.

Trailing and Fixed Drawdown System

Proppers uses a mixed drawdown system that combines Trailing and Fixed Drawdowns. As long as you have not reached break-even with your maximum drawdown limit, you will have a Trailing Max Drawdown of 5% from the All-Time High (ATH) of your current account, similar to the assessment phase. Once your max drawdown limit reaches the account size (indicating break-even), the system switches to a Fixed Drawdown, where the drawdown limit is equal to the account size. If your balance or equity falls below break-even, the system will revert back to a Trailing Drawdown. Break-even is generally reached at approximately 5.263% profit. This approach provides more available risk compared to a pure relative system, offering an additional $2,250 of available risk on a $50,000 account.

Profit Target for Scaling

To scale your account, you must achieve a profit target of 10% net profit or more, accumulated over several months. For example, on a $50,000 account, this means you need to generate a minimum net profit of $5,000. It’s important to note that withdrawals will not affect your accumulated profit. However, you cannot have any open positions or orders when reaching this limit and claiming success.

Final Review

After claiming success, Proppers will manually review your trades to ensure no infractions occurred. This review typically takes no more than 48 hours. If no infractions are found, you will be given a new account with more funding, allowing you to continue scaling your trading capital.

General Rules for Trading with Proppers

Traders must place a Stop Loss on every trade immediately when the trade is initiated. Failing to do so will result in a soft breach. Accumulating multiple soft breaches (more than 10% of trades) can lead to disqualification. For further details, refer to the sections on General Rules – Disqualification, Rules for Assessment – Drawdown, and Rules for Live Accounts – Drawdown. The total of all your Stop Losses can never exceed your available risk, which can be monitored on your Personal Analytics Page. To avoid any issues, use available risk calculators and always allow for some margin, especially if the second currency in your trade pair is not USD (e.g., CHFJPY). If you exceed your available risk, you will receive a warning by email. If the risk is not reduced within the allotted time, a soft breach will be incurred. On demo accounts, affected trades may not count toward reaching your profit target. On live accounts, Proppers reserves the right to close the position with the greatest risk or loss at its discretion.

Use of Expert Advisors (EAs)

Proppers does not allow the use of certain types of EAs:

  • Full Auto EAs, unless they are your own intellectual property. Proppers is not a testing ground for commercial EAs, as the firm seeks human traders capable of adapting to changing market conditions.
  • Bad behaving EAs, which include EAs that:
    • Place unnecessary orders (e.g., changing limit or stop orders to the same price multiple times).
    • Create excessive load on Proppers’ or the broker’s systems, including HFT bots and similar scripts.
    • Engage in any behavior that deviates from “normal” trading as defined by Proppers or the broker.

Traders are fully responsible for the actions and results of any EAs they use, within the scope of Proppers’ terms and conditions.

Trade Copying and Social Trading

Traders are not allowed to use their Proppers account as a slave account in any automated trade copying or social trading setup. Proppers seeks responsible traders who make their own decisions, rather than relying on others to pass them trades. As it’s impossible to verify if trades are being copied from another account under your direction, Proppers does not permit any form of automated trade copying or social trading. Similarly, signal services that provide complete trades for direct input are not allowed. However, you may use services that offer resistance and support levels as the basis for your own trading decisions.

Multiple Accounts and Consistency Rule

While you are allowed to have multiple accounts simultaneously, you cannot execute the same trades across multiple accounts. Each account stands independently, and only those that meet all targets are eligible for an upgrade, whether to a live account or to a scaled account. Proppers enforces a consistency rule: traders should aim to maintain consistent trade sizes, either in terms of lots or risk. While Proppers is lenient with this rule, trades that significantly deviate from your typical size or strategy may be discounted at Proppers’ discretion. For instance, if you meet your profit target with consistent trades but then switch to minimal lot sizes to meet the minimum trading days, these smaller trades may be discarded. Likewise, if you suddenly place a trade much larger than your usual size and make an extraordinary profit, this could be considered gambling. Such trades may be discarded on an assessment account, and you may incur a soft breach or face exclusion from the program if this occurs on a live account.

Disqualification and Reset

After being disqualified for three soft breaches or one hard breach (falling below the drawdown limit with either equity or balance), your account will be closed. However, you can start over by requesting a reset and paying the associated fee. A reset will provide you with a new account two stages lower than the account on which you were disqualified.

  • Assessment resets to assessment.
  • Live stage 1 resets to assessment.
  • Live stage 2 resets to assessment.
  • Live stage 3 resets to live stage 1.
  • Live stage 4 resets to live stage 2.

In cases of willful misconduct, Proppers may deny your request for a reset.

Trading the News and Weekends

Proppers allows traders to trade the news, hold trades over the weekend, and trade cryptocurrencies during the weekend.

Soft Breaches and Disqualification

You incur a soft breach when you:

  • Fail to place a stop loss on a trade immediately when the trade is opened.
  • Use excessive risk in one or multiple concurrent trades.

Multiple soft breaches (more than 10% of trades) will result in disqualification and the closure of your account. In cases of severe infractions, Proppers may disqualify you outright, with or without the right to request a reset.

Profits and Payouts at Proppers

Proppers offers traders a profit split of either 75% or 90%, depending on their level within the program. This means traders receive either 75% or 90% of all profits made during the month. The profit share is calculated based on the trader’s balance and equity at the end of the New York stock market trading session on the day the payout is requested.

Profit Calculation

When calculating your profit, Proppers considers your previous calculation balance, your current balance, and any total open loss. Your new calculation balance is determined by your account size and total open loss. After these calculations, your account either resets to the original account size or upgrades to the next stage.

Calculation Formulas

  • Profit: current balance – previous calculation balance – total open loss
  • New Calculation Balance: account size – total open loss

Example Calculation

  • You start with a $100,000 account. Your calculation balance is $100,000.
  • You trade for a month and make a profit of $1,000, but have a total open loss of $250.
  • Proppers will pay a profit split on $750 ($101,000 – $100,000 – $250), which is 75% or $562.50.
  • Your new calculation balance is $99,750 ($100,000 – $250).
  • Your account resets to a $100,000 balance with $99,750 equity.
  • At the end of the next month, you are flat (no open trades) with a balance of $104,000.
  • Proppers will pay a profit split on $4,250 ($104,000 – $99,750), which is 75% or $3,187.50.
  • Your new calculation balance is reset to $100,000.

Payout Requests

Payout requests must be submitted to Proppers at least four hours before the end of the New York stock market trading session and must be confirmed by Proppers. If the request is not submitted in time, the calculation will be processed the following day at the same time.

Account Reset and Upgrade

After each profit calculation, your account will either reset to the original account size or upgrade to the next stage, depending on the results. This ensures that your trading progress is maintained while giving you the opportunity to continue growing your trading capital.

In summary, Proppers offers a robust and professional trading platform with a strong emphasis on trader education, risk management, and transparent practices.
